ABOUT THE BAND

The North Carolina A&T State University band program was started in 1918 with about a 50-piece band. During then, the band was the backbone of the music department and still is today. Under the leadership of the current band director Dr. Kenneth G. Ruff the Blue and Gold Marching Machine has risen to new heights by upholding the traditions of yesterday and fusing it with the excellence of tomorrow. The Blue and Gold Marching Machine has performed all over the country bringing diversity, versatility and loyalty to their audiences.
